  • MacBook Pro: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) or newer

ZoomFixer didn't work for me. What do I do now?

If ZoomFixer doesn't work for you, you can try the following:

  1. Completely close Zoom and ZoomFixer.
  2. For any web browser you have installed on your Mac, clear all site data from it, except for your saved passwords. Here's how to do that for each of the major browsers:
  3. Close the browsers completely, then reboot your computer.
  4. After rebooting, do not open any browsers. Run ZoomFixer, and try the fix again.

A note about network adapters: Our testing has found that some desktop Macs (iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini) may not work with ZoomFixer using the built-in Ethernet adapter. If you are having trouble getting ZoomFixer to work, you can try purchasing this brand of USB Ethernet adapter which we have found works very well consistently: Plugable 2.5G USB C and USB to Ethernet Adapter.

Why do you need my login username and password?

ZoomFixer requires you (or any administrator on your computer) to authorize the app:

  • to patch the Zoom application
  • to temporarily change the network interfaces on your computer

The ZoomFixer developers never see, handle or store your login or password. macOS handles the authorization via a system dialog, and once the permission is granted, we can run the commands necessary to perform the two steps above.

Do I need to use this every time I use Zoom?

Yes. Due to the nature of the error, you will need to run ZoomFixer every time you use Zoom, as the patches ZoomFixer applies are not permanent.

Will ZoomFixer affect my other applications?

No, ZoomFixer only modifies network settings that affect Zoom. Your other applications will continue to work normally.

How do I uninstall ZoomFixer?

To uninstall ZoomFixer, simply delete ZoomFixer.app from your /Applications folder. That's it! ZoomFixer does not make any permanent changes to your system, or leave anything behind.

Is ZoomFixer free?

Yes, ZoomFixer is completely free to download and use.
